Delay = Death
Just as it did with President Bill Clinton in 1993. It started out very popular and the Repubs effectively delayed voting on anything until the Congress simply refused to bring it to a vote. The Harry and Louise ads were the final nail in the coffin. Once again, we are going down that same path.

<snip>
President Obama's Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Peter Orszag, accused Senate Republicans on Sunday of trying to kill health care reform by dragging out the legislative process.

Appearing on CNN's State of the Union, Orszag labeled the attempts to push back the health care reform timeline as a "typical Washington bureaucratic game of if you don't have a better alternative just delay in hopes that that kills something."

"We want to get this done by August and we think we can," he added. "There are those that are advocating delay just as a desperation move to try and kill this."

2. Delay is denial. That is what Health Insurance corporations do.
If you are dead, you don't incur any more "health care expenses".

3. If they pass it, they can always fix it.
The trick is to get it passed, if in name only.

7. How many people died
because, in the '90s, they couldn't stand the idea of Clinton-led reform?

Yeah, both parties are guilty of playing political games. But the gopers do have a very pronounced cavalier attitude toward healthcare. It's just another subject that won't give them power, so they couldn't care less about any negative impact of their intransigence. I wouldn't be in the least surprised to hear Boehner declare that some people die as part of a 'Democrat' plot to make Republicans look bad.
