13 Men Falsely Convicted by D.A. Wade (of Roe v. Wade Fame)
The following article describes how DNA evidence has determined that at least 13 men were innocent of the crimes for which they were convicted in Dallas County, Texas. Most of these convictions involved African-Americans and most occurred when a man named Wade was the District Attorney.

Wade is the same guy who was the anti-abortionist in the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision.

"13th DNA Exoneration Expected in Dallas
The Associated Press

James Curtis Giles spent 10 years in prison for a gang rape he has long said he did not commit. On Monday, more than a decade after his release and after several years of living as a registered sex offender, he was expected to become the 13th Dallas County man to be exonerated since 2001 with the help of DNA evidence.

The Dallas County District Attorney's office and Giles' lawyer both planned to present evidence in court Monday that they say proves he is innocent of the 1982 gang rape of a Dallas woman.

Police eventually arrested James Curtis Giles, who lived 25 miles away and did not match the description of the attacker given by the rape victim, Potkin said. Giles was about 10 years older and had gold teeth. He also had an alibi; he and his wife told police he was asleep in bed. Investigators ignored another man with a similar name: James Earl Giles. That Giles lived across the street from the victim and had previously been arrested with Brown on other charges, the attorneys said.

Giles, who is black, would be the 13th Dallas County man since 2001 exonerated by DNA evidence, the most of any county in the nation."

4. I agree. At that point, we have a pattern of
blatantly prosecuting innocent people. x(

It's time for him to see the other side of the process. He needs to be brought up on charges.

5. Things have not changed much over the years.
The police are always right no matter what the evidence proves. Since I have lived in the DFW area most of my life I can attest to the fact that it is no different from most large cities. Wade had many successful convictions probably because he was over zealous.

7. That's it, we're stripping Texas of it's statehood
Federal officials will run everything from here on and jurors and policeman will be made up of northerners and westerners.

8. "Dallas County leads the nation in cases overturned by DNA testing."
That's a direct quote from the perky Dallas talking heads who have read the story on WFAA. They say it like it's a good thing. No consideration given that the reason may be because we lead the nation in wrongful convictions.
