RW buys a seat in WI Supreme Court
Heard on Ring of Fire.

The reich has learned that they no longer need to worry about presidential or even state elections to control the country. They just need to control the courts. That's what they did last week when RW candidate Annette Ziegler, recipient of $6 million from the RW U. S. Chamber of Commerce for her election campaign, won the seat at WI Supreme Court Justice. This is a growing trend according to Mike Papantonio, which will greatly diminish the rights of citizens to receive remuneration for corporate wrongdoing.

There was a lot of controversy about Ziegler's election and the campaign ads were nasty. It also seems that Ziegler had some undisclosed conflicts of interest. Read some of the comments from those for and against her election:

State Supreme Court seat not for sale

Why is big business trying to purchase a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court? We all saw the commercials purchased by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for Annette Ziegler in the March primary. In addition to the commercials, we got mailings and those awful, pre-recorded phone calls, all of which cost a lot of money. What does big business expect in return for this attempt to purchase our votes?

Now it turns out that Ziegler has ethical problems. She failed to remove herself from several cases where she owned a lot of stock in the corporation appearing before her, as she is required to do.

The issue isn't whether she profited from her ruling or not. The issue is whether she was ignorant of the law, or just didn't think it applied to her. Either way, she certainly does not belong on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. She should withdraw her candidacy and work at resolving her own ethical issues.

The voters need to say loud and clear that our votes are not for sale to the person with the most money, especially one with ethical issues like Ziegler. That's why I am voting for Linda Clifford for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Colleague values Clifford's experience

I support Linda Clifford for Wisconsin Supreme Court because she is capable, honest and has no marks against her. I know her because we were both assistant attorneys general.

She has practiced in the Supreme Court; her opponent has not.

4. You can't. But for your enjoyment, here's some info from their web page...

No Child Left Behind Act Reauthorization
The U.S. Chamber believes the No Child Left Behind Act is one of the critical tools needed to transform U.S. education so that all students graduate academically prepared for college, citizenship, and the 21st century workplace. Ask your legislators to support NCLB reauthorization efforts that go beyond the current Act.
