My quick take on the Obama presser.
I thought Obama got too wrapped in the details and may have lost the broader narrative of why we need to get this done. However my dad, who has no degree beyond high school not only understood everything and applauded what he had to say, but applied it to the bullshit he's going through with his own provider. So I may think the went above folks' heads, he may have reached more people than I thought. Stay tuned.

2. that was my thought as well
My husband has an associate's degree only, and has been a blue collar worker all his life. He really enjoyed what Obama had to say.

3. I thought he spoke very clearly that even a child could understand
. But as we learned during the McCain debates. He doesn't speak in sound bytes. He almost tries to teach. I guess that comes from being a Professor.

4. He spoke to Americans as adults that's why the details are a
good thing. His critics have been complaining that he hasn't given any details....so he did.

5. He needs to address immediate implementation
Apparently no in the press realized that despite the rush to pass the bill, it doesn't provide any substantive change until 2013. Not much help for that couple whose daughter has leukemia that Obama used to justify the rush. Either she will be dead (without care), or her parents will be bankrupt.

I am disappointed no one pinned him down to require immediate implementation, particularly once he used that couple and their daughter as an example of why we have to make changes by August.

6. He established a need for health care reform on every level except the human right.
And I think that's coming down the road. The President has to first establish why we need health care reform NOW, in financial and technical terms. And as to how he accomplished that tonight with the American people, color me impressed. He has the people with this one. The opposers will benefit from reform, they just have their ears closed.
