Blue Dogs? The President? Harry fuckin' Reed?

We worked hard to get Barack Obama elected.

The American People rejected Republicans and their shitty ideas and policies.

The President had a mandate, and a majority.

Now he's got a super-majority.

Why should we compromise on anything? Who fuckin' cares what republicans think?

We need a Democratic version of Bill Frist. Someone who drives the agenda, reigns in the Senate, gets shit done. Harry Reed is worthless IMO.

sorry.

on edit: I only use Frist as an illustrative example. I hate that fuck, and everything he stands for.

6. I don't understand that. WHY are they afraid? What are they afraid of?
The repukes are doing what they always do, (after the American people handed them their asses) and the Dems are doing what they always do...catering to the repukes.

I don't fucking get it.

lie constantly. Why aren't Progressives on the air calling out the lies and telling the truth? All I hear on TV and the radio are outrageous wingnut lies about a public option. Where are the Democrats talking about this?

17. Obama will get the blame. It could even make him a one term
President. I think he's going to need to channel his inner FDR and LBJ to get this going in the right direction. He's going to have to throw the profiteers under the bus or this will be the biggest mistake of his first year in office.

23. Anyone who wanted a national makeover but failed to call it Medicare for All.
If it had been branded properly as Medicare for All, the only debate would have been how to pay for it.

In this era of making a bottomless wishing well available to rescue banks, this much narrower debate should have been an easy fight to win.

Start branding it properly, and have another run at it.

Shoulda woulda coulda, but never give up.

28. Except the ideas that are currently being put forward aren't anywhere near "Medicare for All"
and calling what they're proposing by that name would have been an outright lie.

Medicare for All would be single payer system and single payer wasn't even allowed to be part of the discussion.

35. The Blue Dog traitors. Every European country simply pays for
healthcare insurance through taxation. We should do that. The taxes will be much cheaper than the ransoms we pay healthcare companies. They are stealing from ordinary people. It's horrible what they do.

Instead, the Repubs are and they have the Democrats cowering in the corners.

We have/had a great opportunity here.

41. If health care reform fails
we will be the ones that caused it to fail. We elected people that could be influenced by the insurance and pharmaceutical interests. We elected a president that did not have the experience or managerial skills to "make it happen". Knowing full well how the Republicans would attack the program,
we were unable to or incapable of countering their actions. We were unable to mobilize the american people in support of the reform effort. Of course, what we will see on this forum is op after op blaming The BFEE, the blue-dogs, the Republicans, the fundis, big business interests, the homophobes, the BSA and the WCTU. everyone but us. We will be the ones that failed. JMO
