Anybody notice all the propaganda health care commercials from the

PhRMA and insurance industries on the MSNBC shows "The Ed Show", "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" and "The Rachel Maddow Show"? If those hosts are reading this, I hope that they address this on their programs. I know it's biting the hand that's feeding you, but in this case that hand needs to be bit. Those very commercials are being paid from the health care premiums and drug sales ordinary Americans are being gouged for and held hostage by and it needs to be pointed out. Although I have Medicare, I still have to pay an additional $250 a month for insurance to plug the gaps in my Medicare coverage. I have to buy medication that keeps me going and I resent that the money from that insurance premium and that overpriced $10 pill is being used to undermine health care reform in this country with the propaganda they are starting to lay out to be consumed by the gullible to derail meaningful healthcare legislation.

I average about 30 minutes of TV viewing a week with the bulk of the time accumulated during the NFL season. In the age of the internet and the relative ease of seeing the primary item ( either video or documents ) that generated the story I don't see the need to have commentators spoon feed me the bits of fact that support their world view.

and I was sad not to get to see the full shows of The Colbert Report. Needless to say, in the last year or so, I've gotten a happy surprise from my computer. I get to see what I want, when I want it (though those damn commercials are starting to be a pain on the internet).

I try to watch Olbermann and Maddow every night that I'm able to, and I have noticed these misleading ads. The ads make it sound like they want to help everyone get health coverage (although their idea of help would be a mandated private policy for every American, probably filled with massive coverage exclusions). If they wanted to help Americans, why the onslaught of ads now? They could have offered help years ago.

I don't expect O'Reilly or Hannity to say anything, but I hope Ed, Keith and Rachel will do so even though they are sponsoring their shows. Somehow I find the male enhancement ads less offensive. At least they are using their own money and are not in the business of stealing health care dollars from us, who are forced to buy their product.
