Gov't plan can coexist with private insurance
WASHINGTON - A new government health insurance plan sought by President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats could coexist with private insurers without driving them out of business, an analysis by nonpartisan budget experts suggests.

The estimate by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office - seen as good news by Democrats - comes as leaders pushed Monday to make progress on health care overhaul before lawmakers go home for their August recess.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., says a floor vote is still possible in the next few days, and Democrats called a meeting of all their House members late Monday afternoon. In the Senate, a small group of lawmakers from both parties were resuming negotiations in search of an elusive compromise.

1. In fact, the health plan will be a huge financial bonanza for the private insurance companies!

The "public option" as presently written is not a threat to private insurance at all.

Why?

Because very few people will qualify for it, only about 10 million by 2019, and it won't offer better benefits at lower prices than private insurance companies!

4. That explains why
there's zero opposition from the insurance lobby.
this bill is a gift to the health insurance industry.

heck, they probably wrote most of it themselves.

i've been eligible for medicare for almost 3 years, but have chosen to stay with my husband's employers insurance. right now, it's less money than medicare with better coverage. will it be next year? maybe not in which case i'll go with medicare.

i like having the choice.

7. END CORPORATE PERSONHOOD!!!
Plain and simple. Make a law that corporations are not people, and do NOT have constitutional rights. I wish the heck there was an end in sight for these damn ganifs.
