7. Crowley is the source of the report of two black men breaking into a house, not the 911 call.

The neighbor never mentioned the race of the people she saw.

9. Crowley said he had talked to the woman who dialed 911

and she told him that two black men with backpacks were putting their shoulders to the door of the house.

911 call has witness saying one was a possible Hispanic, and that there were suitcases on the porch, and it might not be a B&E.

The discrepancy might be because Crowley interviewed someone else who was a witness but who hadn't dialed 911. Reports are that another woman had drawn the attention of the 911 caller to the situation.

Until we know for sure, I hesitate on calling Crowley a liar.

18. Sgt. Crowley clearly identified the person he spoke with as...

Ms. Whalen in his official police report:

"As I reached the door, a female voice called out to me. I turned and looked in the direction of the voice and observed a white female, later identified as Lucia Whalen."

Ms. Whalen, through her lawyer has stated:

"Let me be clear: She never had a conversation with Sgt. Crowley at the scene," Murphy told CNN by phone. "And she never said to any police officer or to anybody 'two black men.' She never used the word 'black.' Period."

10. There has been no proof that Crowley lied.

Crowley has stuck with his story, which is largely corroborated by officer Figueroa and Gates himself.

All that has happened in the last two days is that Lucia Whalen has been issuing challenges to the police report through her lawyer. Lucia works for Harvard selling umbrellas and coffee cups. She's hardly above suspicion.
