1. Too bad.

From a partisan Democratic point of view, he'd have been a relatively easy mark. So let's hope now that wackadoo Rand Paul gets the nomination and not someone more credible.

3. I just think his libertarianism (small "l") will give a Dem a better shot at winning.

That sort of politics doesn't seem the most likely fit in Kentucky (more like Wyoming). Judging by what I've seen of his appearances, I certainly think he has more brains than neo-conservative stooges or lemmings who followed W over the edge.
