that the average street criminal is no smarter than the average cop.

Ask Cheney- why not take over the gov't to commit your crimes? They can make it legal.

They're probably on the same level as cops that work in suburban communities. Usually, these are the cops that got fired from the big city force, or never made it onto the big city force. Sometimes they couldn't pass the psych test or sometimes couldn't do enough push ups. They would work for the big city force if they could because the big city generally pays much better than the suburb community force. Therefore suburb cops in general ain't that bright to begin with or often there may be something psychologically wrong with them. If they were that good, they'd be working for the big city rather than in the suburb. Cambridge fits this generality. However, I've been to Cambridge and I'd be surprised if they were paid any less than Boston police.
