As the myth of S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford continues to publicly unravel, one of the governor’s former Congressional staffers is now telling FITS that Sanford’s oft-repeated claim to have “slept on a futon” in his Congressional office is not true.
Or at least not completely true.
Specifically, the governor is said to have stayed in an apartment in Washington D.C. that was paid for by private sources.
Did he ever bring a woman other than his wife, First Lady Jenny Sanford, to this “love nest?”
“Yes,” our source said flatly. “I have personal knowledge (of that).”
Independent sources have confirmed to FITS that a private, undisclosed residence was “maintained” for Sanford during his six years in the nation’s capital, although they declined to elaborate on what may or may not have transpired there.
Sanford has long told his family – and constituents – that he slept on the futon in order to avoid Washington corruption and to save taxpayers money.
http://www.fitsnews.com/2009/07/27/sources-sanford-had-d-c-love-nest/Yes, I know it says "sources". However, FITS has been on the money before about Sanford, and he would have a lot of contacts.
I began wondering about his "sleeping in his office" hooha after the Luv Gov news came out. Hypocrite! I'll bet there are other shoes to drop. I wish the US would declare him as an undesirable so he'd have to stay out of the country.
