Rick Sanchez On Twitter: Hispanics Working For Fox Have "Sold Out," Bill Maher's An "Opportunist"
CNN host Rick Sanchez is well known for his passionate and prolific use of Twitter, which includes interacting with it when he's on-air. And as his more than 100,000 followers are no doubt aware, he's willing to speak his mind over a tweet.

Well, Friday night Sanchez fired off some particularly entertaining and pointed attacks over Twitter, taking on both comedian Bill Maher and Hispanics who work for Fox. In a series of consecutive tweets Sanchez explained that "if i didn't believe in doing right thing, i'd be rich anchoring at fox news," and then followed up by saying, "do u know how much money i'd make if i'd sold out as hispanic and worked at fox news, r u kidding, one problem, looking in mirror." He then added, "me? what? i live in burbs, wife, four kids, dog, turtle.. two jobs... yeah... i'm a real rich guy, right?"

Fox News responds!!

Everyone knows that Rick is an industry joke, he shows that he's a hack everyday. And he doesn't have to worry about working at FOX because we only hire talent who have the ability to generate ratings.

2. I think both parties are childish.
I've worked with news anchors before on the local level. They're not terribly bright.

Just before I was forced out of my TV job, there was a meeting where the General Manager started talking about Twitter accounts for our major news anchors. One of the news anchors, a not-too-bright blonde, was worried that she'd have to write replies to those "tweets." She was assured that there would be a staffer who would answer those for her, directing the questioners to the station's web site stories. The anchor was glad that she wouldn't be forced to think for herself.

And it doesn't surprise me that Fox would answer childishly. They have institutionalized childish behavior on their network. At CNN it's only an unofficial policy, so far.

3. So to Fox News...
hiring people "who have the ability to generate ratings" is their main qualification? I guess it confirms what most people already knew....that Fox has very little concern for intelligence and journalistic ability when comes their news hosts.
