All Michael Jackson all the time sends M$NoBodyCares into fourth place
July Ratings: MSNBC Fourth in Total Day

While the Michael Jackson news was a boon for CNN and HLN, it came at the expense of MSNBC, in both daytime and primetime.

MSNBC slipped to fourth place in total day A25-54 demo viewers. The network's most popular show, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, is down 11% year-over-year; second in Total Viewers, third in the A25-54 demo. July 2009 was Countdown's lowest month in A25-54 viewers since Dec. '07. (Olbermann was off 7 of the 20 days of the ratings period).

As for MSNBC's new shows, they are down double-digits compared to July '08:

• Morning Meeting with Dylan Ratigan (9-11amET) is down 14% in the demo compared to MSNBC Live in July '08 (87K v 101K).

• Dr. Nancy (Noon-1pmET) is down 38% in the demo compared to MSNBC Live in July '08 (53K v 86K).

"Morning Joe" showed growth, year-over-year, up 15% in Total Viewers and up 7% in the demo.

1. Ratigan and Dr Nancy are dreadful. The daytime lineup is
unwatchable until Shuster and Tameron Hall at 3.

Morning Joe is up? :puke:

2. Probably because of the bulk book buys the bookstore owners are watching
or something like that. I don't watch Morning Schmo anymore, so maybe it's the FAUX and Frauds audience flipping over to look at drunken Mika Mouse?

3. That's probably it. I stopped watching Joe & co last year, now I
only watch the clips that people post here.

But the Faux crowd might enjoy it.

4. Oh My
Dr. Nancy is down-right boring.

It makes sense that they would viewers from last July to now, because of the election. But...these are some dismal numbers ...

I'm starting to kinda like that Dylan guy -

Norah O'Donnell is probably laughing her ass off - she was very upset about losing her hour show and this news has got to make her snicker.
