Imus has painted himself into a corner by groveling
If he means what he says and cleans up his act, he's gonna lose his audience. If he fucks up again and lets his true feelings slip out, he'll lose his job. Either way he's screwn.

2. i disagree on both counts
1) that wasnt his true feelings but a horrible joke in awful taste.
2) his audience listens to him for many reasons, his show has a wide range of humor and topics. i can see the humor becoming more and more political.

so i dont think he is screwed at all.

3. How can a healthy, sane mind even form such words let alone speak them?
IMHO, it's not as much about what people SAY as about the fact that such things "LEAK" out from a mind that can even form such thoughts.

I just can't even imagine (thank goddess!!) having such thoughts form in my mind when viewing the Rutgers women's basketball team play. If such a thought were to form in my mind I'd be doubling up on my meditation and internal "housecleaning."

When Mel Gibson blamed booze for the antisemitic remarks he made, I could only go "Whaaa??!?" Booze NEVER puts thoughts into one's mind ... it merely lets thoughts leak out over the tongue. So, the problem isn't what leaks out but what forms in the mind in the first place.

I'm just not a fan of inhibition. Inhibition is way over-rated.
