What was that.... The British woman said she wished she had the U.S.'s health care "system." WTF?!!???
For any who didn't watch/listened (I listed occasionally on XM Radio on my way to work so I can do some scream therapy):
they had yet another horror story about government health care. This time a British man and his wife discussed how he was diagnosed with advanced macular degeneration and that one drug, which is extremely expensive, could have been used to save his sight in one eye, but the NHS didn't pay for the drug, so he lost his sight. Then, he admitted that his eyesight was already too far gone for the drug to have helped anyway, but now he's risking his sight in his other eye. Then, one of the Fox mental midgets asked the couple if they would have preferred the U.S. "system" to which the woman replied that she wished she had the U.S. "system."
If anyone knows their name, I'd like to investigate their story and possibly let them know they are full of shit. Of course, no one at Fox asked them how much they had to pay for the many visits to eye specialists, etc. Nor did anyone explain that in the U.S., with a lot of insurance plans one would have to get a pre-approval from a primary physician before being able to see a specialist and one would have to meet a deductible before a percentage of the costs would be paid by the insurance and who even knows if an insurance company would have paid for this very expensive drug.
