Obama's restructuring of the federal judiciary continues, two more US District Judges nominated
White House Press Release
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, President Obama nominated Abdul Kallon and Jacqueline Nguyen to United States District Court judgeships.

"These nominees have dedicated their careers to serving the public good," said President Obama. "And in so doing, they have displayed an unyielding commitment to justice and integrity. I am confident that they will serve the American people well from the United States District Court bench, and I am honored to nominate them today." (Link below)




Judge Jacqueline H. Nguyen: Nominee for the Central District of California
44 years old.

Judge Jacqueline Nguyen is currently a Superior Court Judge for the County of Los Angeles, a position to which she was appointed in August 2002. Judge Nguyen received her undergraduate degree from Occidental College in 1987 and her law degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1991. From 1991 to 1995, Nguyen worked in private practice where she specialized in civil litigation. From 1995 until August 2002, Nguyen was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Central District of California. During her tenure in that office, she served as Deputy Chief of the General Crimes Section. Judge Nguyen is being nominated to the United States District Court for the Central District of California and was rated well-qualified by the ABA.




Abdul K. Kallon: Nominee for the Northern District of Alabama
40 years old.

Abdul Kallon graduated from Dartmouth College in 1990 and from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1993. Kallon is currently a partner at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings in Birmingham, Alabama, where he practices labor and employment law. He joined the firm in 1994 after clerking for Judge U.W. Clemon of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. Kallon is a past president of the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society of Birmingham. Kallon is being nominated to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama and was rated well-qualified by the ABA.

4. It is good to see him putting up some young folks as well, so far they have been relatively old
