3. He is very insecure and defensive, stating
"well **I*** didn't go to Harvard, but..."

He thinks that the real measure of the economy is the stock market. He has no idea what the Federal Reserve does.

His body language is very interesting too. Arms folded across his chest.

7. He had the same body language
when he appeared on the first "Real Time With Bill Maher" after President Obama was elected.

During the show, he talked about the three civil-rights workers — James Chaney, Michael Schwerner and Andrew Goodman —who in 1964 were kidnapped and murdered in Mississippi because they were trying to ensure voting rights for black Americans. "This election means that those boys did not die in vain," Queenan said, through tears.

That was my first impression of the man. He made some lame attempts at jokes tonight, but I didn't find him defensive or insecure. Did I miss something?

12. I'd never seen him before, and it was much more than his body language that turned me off..
His numerous digs about Harvard sounded childish.

His remarks about health care reform revealed a level of ignorance that I found shocking. He seemed to be saying that the current system is working great for everyone except people who are uninsured and made it sound like reform was nothing more than another welfare program. Is he that stupid that he is unaware of how many people WITH insurance are forced into bankruptcy or how the rapidly rising cost of insurance is going to force more and more people to go without?

When he insisted that the rebound of the stock market was THE criterion on which to evaluate Obama's performance thus far, he completely lost me. He is woefully out of touch with average Americans.

When the Harvard professor next to him, tried to set him straight on these points, he came across as very defensive.

This was my first exposure to Queenan, and he made a very poor impression on me. I'm glad to hear the man does have some redeeming qualities, because he didn't display too many of them last night in my opinion. Even his remarks about women's rights in Afghanistan came across poorly, as if military might can somehow force a change in the way women are treated there.

5. The stock market...
... has completely disconnected from the actual economy. It's going to be real fun seeing how this eventually resolves itself.

Money is like water, you pour it out somewhere and it will find the low spots. It take some time though.

9. Yeah but even drunk he knows the score.
I still remember that guy in Iraq, when everyone else was still showing the Saddam statue toppling on a continuous loop, he was actually saying how fucked up it was.

10. I've always liked his writing -
Joe Queenan is an incredibly funny and talented writer.

You didn't like him before, but now you like him even less?

How come?

Ever see his "BunnyBurgers" prank with the old Spy magazine?

11.  Chris Hitchens but without the drunken charm
what a raging douchenozzle; he said some really shitty things to Rachel including something along the lines of "you just need to find the right guy."
