Olbermann and O'Reilly truce?
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/01/business/media/01feud.html?_r=1&hp

It was a media cage fight, televised every weeknight at 8 p.m. But the match was halted when the blood started to spray executives in the high-priced seats.

For years Keith Olbermann of MSNBC had savaged his prime-time nemesis Bill O’Reilly of the Fox News Channel and accused Fox of journalistic malpractice almost nightly. Mr. O’Reilly in turn criticized Mr. Olbermann’s bosses and led an exceptional campaign against General Electric, the parent company of MSNBC.

It was perhaps the fiercest media feud of the decade and by this year, their bosses had had enough. But it took a fellow television personality with a neutral perspective to help bring it to at least a temporary end.

1. Baloney.
Keith took the initiative on his own to lay off of Billo. Credit him with being the one to quit. Not the suits who are just looking for an excuse to preen and pride themselves on how they got their boys to play nice.

4. I always thought that the best thing K could do was ignore the
nutter. Being irrelevant will piss off Billow (and his supporters) much better than taunting.

2. I was wondering why we haven't hear much about Billo the clown lately. I guess that's what happens..
when only 6 companies control everything we read, watch and listen to.

3. Keith gave his very empassioned reasons for no longer talking about Billo.
He played several clips of O'Reilly calling the abortion provider who was killed, a murderer. After the doctor's murder, Keith felt that BO's disgraceful behavior had directly contributed to his death. There could be more to the story, but I believe Keith, and I'm glad he did it.

6. And I think it's the best thing he's ever done. I wish the rest of progressive media...
would follow suit. :fistbump:
