I DIDn't include the link the person ref. in the email, if you want to see the you video let me know I will post it.

A warning: Do not log on to cars.gov, at least not from your own computer. If you have to log in, go to the library or kinko's. Basically, by logging in your computer becomes the government's computer and all the information within it as well. And not only for domestic but foreign use. I know... you're saying ... huh? Watch this from this afternoon's Glenn Beck show.

"This application provides access to the DoT CARS system. When logged on to the CARS system, your computer is considered a Federal computer System and is the property of the U.S. Government. And and all files on this system may be intercepted, monitored, recorded, copied, audited, inspected and disclosed to authorized CARS, DoT, and law enforcement personnel, as well as authorized officials of other agencies, both domestic and foreign.

1. Why does the govt need to take over the computer? Bushie already made it so that
anyone can collect data and spy on you.. AND exactly what computer do you own.. Microsoft programming.. well, they connect in all the time... To think you have any privacy anymore is lunacy. With the connection of the world, privacy is lost.. If you don't want someone knowing what you do or what you write or what pics you collect, don't do it on a computer.

2. This is great! It should weed out the stupid folks from getting...
a great deal from the government. I alway wish there were a way to keep the stimulus money for the people who voted for the people who supported it in the first place.

It's a popular program so spread the rumer. "The government puts a chip in your new cach for clunkers car" that's right they are spying on your wingnut arse! Leave the money for those terrorist liberals.

3. My idiot friend is the worse kind of Republican, she is poor and feels bad for the rich
I sent her an email blasting her for being stupid.

I just saw someone posted the video of Glenn Beck making this claim
I have been out of the loop for many months, I can't stand all the crap the repubs do
they are like a bunch of babies who didn't get their cookies, but instead were sent to bed for a nap

4. It is only when dealers log into the government system. As usual, Beck is misrepresenting the truth
Edited on Sat Aug-01-09 09:09 AM by Hissyspit
There is a point where you have to hit the agreement to access the government system. It is a security feature. You can go to cars.gov to your heart's desire.

All of sudden right-wingers like Beck are worried about government infringement on our privacy. Assholes.

5. It's only on the site used by Dealers.
The site we go to as consumers for information does not include any such warning so info is safe.

I'm not quite sure why that is on the dealer site -- and I would like to know the story -- but it really doesn't affect us. I suspect it has something to do with the fact the dealers actually get payment from the government if a clunker is traded in. I do think whoever wrote that language should have their rear kicked.

Like I told a bunch right winger bitching about this on another site: "So folks, your home data and favorite sites -- like Free Republic, Limbaugh, Beck, Stormfront, How to Fake Being a Christian, Politics for Dummies, Callousness is Next to Godliness, and worse -- are not compromised."

If anyone knows why the warning applies to Dealers, I would like to know.

6. Does this come
from Pat Robertson?

He claimed that a GPS receiver would tell "Them" where you were. Yes Pat, "They" need to know where the good whorehouses are.
