Chiefs Arraigned In Parker-Broderick Case

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio — Two police chiefs accused of breaking into a home to dig for celebrity tabloid material related to the surrogate mother for actors Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick pleaded not guilty on Friday to several felony charges.

Special prosecutor T. Shawn Hervey said the men conspired to take items from the woman's eastern Ohio home to sell to celebrity photographers.

Martins Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter was arraigned on six charges that include two counts of burglary, one count of receiving stolen property, one count of theft in office, one count of tempering with evidence and one count of unauthorized use of property.

Bridgeport Police Chief Chad Dojack was charged with two counts of complicity to burglary and one count of complicity to receiving stolen property.
