be cautious about the Palin divorce thing

I literally watched it evolve in the internet this morning.

Using Google news and filtering for the most recent posts, this thing started out as a post from a blogger at immoral minority. It then was picked up by the Alaska Report which referenced just the blog. Then other stories started popping up referencing the Alaska Report story. THEN , stories just started saying "reports are coming in."

All im saying is that there is really only once source so far and the echo chamber is running at full speed. If we leap and look stupid, they will pin it on us.

1. Notice something else
The divorce story was planted in with some other stories which seem to ahve a bit more credibility, such as the Sarah Johnston story and the story about Levi and Todd.

But the divorce story will take the air out of the other stories if it proves false.

It's an old political dirty trick, and one we saw used masterfully by the Bush team (Rathergate, anybody?)

5. Cheney did the same thing
Helped plant stories about wmd in Iraq and then referenced those stories on MTP after they made it in print.

4. Yes, it's the perfect set up to portray the media, bloggers and
the "liberals" as continuing their onslaught on Sarah by attacking her personal life. I saw nothing on Huffington about this--so their is a certain amount of reserve about the rumor.

The Palin soap opera continues. Whatever. She likes the attention. She hates the attention. Whatever. She's at this point so obviously flaky that she won't ever win office again. She will remain on the scene as a celebrity with her own show. Put this rumor in there with Britney and K-Fed.

I personally could care less. Sarah Palin's horrible white trash family is of no consequence to me. Whether she stays married to Beefcake or not is completely irrelevant.

22. My best friend and his ex filed almost 8 months after they were "finished"
...It took that long for her to get their mortgage refinanced in her name (she got the house, he got other stuff). In a no-fault state.

They were technically "still married" all that time. :shrug:

and so dfar, there is no public record of any divorce filing between Sarah and Todd Palin.
