1. Did this happen before or after Olbermann said he wouldn't mention O'Reilly again?

the NYT says that there has been virtually no criticism of Fox by Olbermman, or MSNBC by O'Reilly, since June 1 when the deal took effect..."

Tiller was assassinated May 31; Keith announced he was quarantining Bill on June 1. Is this an accusation that Keith used Tiller as a "opportunity" to follow GE's orders while making it look like it was his "idea?"

2. This is disturbing. And I had no idea about Wolfe's other
role...silly me, I thought he really was just a political analyst.

3. So, what does the White House think of this?
I guess either they don't know or don't care.

Wolffe did a segment with David Axelrod just yesterday, after all. Is this just not as big a deal as it's being made out to be?

4. Is any one REALLY surprised by this? Most of us have known for years that the media are lying
scum sucking bastards who fill the airwaves with propaganda sprinkled with a tiny bit of truth.

Stop watching those mo fos people and then you might see things the way they really are and then you might also stop worshipping politicians in Washington DC! :argh:

5. interesting
I always liked Richard Wolffe. Of course, I watched him before he took that job in April 2009, so I wonder if his analysis has changed.

i don't think it is a bad thing that BillO is no longer the 'worst person in the world' every other day. Some of the stuff from when I watched was either kinda hard to follow or seemed kinda nitpicky or kinda silly, like having a really really dumb opionion is the worst thing that anybody can do. And even if it was, BillO's opinion was probably not the dumbest one of the day. Depending on what I wrote on DU, I might give BillO a run for his money. On any given Sunday ...

11. Every reporter represents their company, too. Often self-sensoring, but some more independent.
Greenwald took pot shots because he could, and usually does. Some love his liberal edge without questioning.

12. He is a straight up reporter
The truth hurts for some people. Those who watch Olbermann religiously don't want to hear what Greenwald is reporting, because it screws with what they believe to be true. Olbermann and Wolffe=liberal, good, fair, and untouched by corporate interests. When that obviously isn't the case.

All one has to do is watch a day of programming on MSNBC to see where the networks interests lie. I for one thought Greenwald's reporting was stellar and an eye opener. It looks like Olbermann used the death of Dr. Tiller and O'Reilly's reaction to it as a ruse to quit talking about Fox and O'Reilly. I dont know for sure if that is the case it could have been a case of good timing. But if it is the case Olbermann is an opportunist and basically a liar.

I know if I do watch Countdown again it will be with the knowledge that Olbermann is no different than the others in the MSM that suck the corporate teat.

10. Salon goes after our own too easily. Wolfe has access, true, but he's astute, fair to Obama, and
there are far worse cozy relationships of tools, bad reporting, suck-ups, like Tapper, Todd or Ed Henry, who work for a parent company as employee. I think most reporters want access and are willing to do whatever they need to get it. Gregory saying to Sanford's office that they can frame the interview.

Wolfe has been on for a while in this capacity, as a strategist and I haven't seen anything but smart answers to Keith's questions, often narrowly focused about the noise of the day.

When we see strategists on TV they often represent their own businesses, which have clients, candidates, whatever. Reporters may have personal opinion, which is what supposed news is about all about now, unfortunately.

13. Are you sure that Wolfe is "one of our own"?
Working in a lobbyist capacity for a company owned by Dan Bartlett? Don't be so sure.
