Jon Stewart Earns the Wrath of Rush Limbaugh

Jon Stewart has now earned the wrath of Rush Limbaugh for getting Bill Kristol to admit on The Daily Show that government run healthcare works. Limbaugh said that Stewart is a sell out for using the military as healthcare example, because liberals like Stewart hate the military. Ugh, so now Rush is going after Jon Stewart.

Limbaugh first didn’t know what The Daily Show was, and then called it that comedy show that young people think is real news. Limbaugh said, “The thing that gets me about this, I know Jon Stewart is a state run lib Democrat, and if he is having to resort to pointing to the military as something that works to sell a program, that‘s a huge sellout, because these people hate the military.”

In Rush’s mind, Jon Stewart is a liberal Democrat, which I am sure is a relief to Bill Clinton after the years of nightly beatings he took from Stewart during the last couple of years of his term. Secondly, Comedy Central is state run media, really? I didn’t realize South Park was a government run media project. Rush implies that Stewart is some sort of agent of left who is selling Obama’s policies to the young.

he's orders of magnitude cleverer than Stewart. The Glenn Beck satire was a thing of beauty.

It would take Limbaugh a week to figure out he'd even been insulted.

Stewart, on the other hand, can methodically tear apart a public figure point-by-point, until there's nothing left but a quivering blob on the floor. Of course, Rush is already a quivering blob, so it shouldn't take much effort. :evilgrin:

Bonus: A high-profile feud between JS and RL would publicize the lies told by the Republicans about health care, since that is the topic Rush is whining about when he launched this volley.

Now that would be an amusing debate.

Stewart isn't like all of Rush's trained sitting republican dogs. He's going to open up a can of whoop-ass.

Why should Jon Stewart be afraid of Rush? Hell it would be a ratings boost for both sides.

For example, only 69% know that Dick Cheney is vice president, while 74% could identify Dan Quayle in that post in 1989.

Other details are equally eye-opening. Pew judged the levels of knowledgability (correct answers) among those surveyed and found that those who scored the highest were regular watchers of Comedy Central's The Daily Show and Colbert Report. They tied with regular readers of major newspapers in the top spot -- with 54% of them getting 2 out of 3 questions correct. Watchers of the Lehrer News Hour on PBS followed just behind.

Stewart could have Rush gibbering. I think it is something of an honor to be on Rush's bad list. Many of the most successful TV personalities are.

I hope that Stewart will borrow that picture of Rush bouncing in his black clothing that Keith Olbermann used as a little bug at the bottom of his screen.;) The bouncing made Rush look like he had fleas jumping up his butt.:bounce:

This would be a good time for someone like Kris Kristoferson to unleash on Limpbaugh... There's a very good film on military brats and the lifestyles that kids and families live when being shuffled around on military bases by a friend of mine, Donna Musil, called "Brats: Our Journey Home" at:

It features narration by, and a lot of music and other pro bono stuff from Kris Kristoferson, who's also a military brat, in addition to being an activist for us on many issues.

It's interesting that the film actually notes that the whole lifestyle of military folks has been socialist in many ways for decades... With subsidized housing, grocery and other stores (commissaries and PX's), health care, and many other things, it's not just the VA hospital that is socialized about their existence, but a lot of other things too.

And the military schools were integrated WAY before even our schools became more integrated after the struggles of the 60's...

I would LOVE someone like Kristoferson asking Limbaugh if he likes to push socialism on us if he feels that we are "surrendering" to "his side" by defending military institutions like the VA...

Check out this film, it is a great one to show to help those that you know in the military perhaps get a more global perspective that they can identify with and appreciate you understanding their lives by doing so.
