I think some in DC are making a big mistake calling for a second stimulus before the 2012 elections

I know the congress wants it as a campaign issue for 2010 but 2012 is much more important. Any second stimulus should be saved for the presidential reelection campaign.

Most of the first stimulus has preplanned targets that wont let it be spent before next year, likely set up to be a campaign boost for 2010.

But the country needs the spending now, not next year, so........

2. I think targeted infrastructure called for, but highway $500B just shot down.

Call it appropriations or committee bill that creates jobs. We do need more unemployment.

3. The call for a 2nd stimulus is because the

critters realize that this first one was too small, as many of the best economists warned. But don't worry, it ain't gonna happen anytime soon, if at all. Anyway, President Obama is not that in to it, at least not so far.
