Saying the reason for improvement can't have anything to do with the Democratic policies. It has to be something else they were saying.

If this economy is really coming back the Republicans are fucked.

1. the Obama presidency rides on the state of the economy
and always has. If people are feeling good about their personal circumstances, the Limbaughs and Becks lose their ability to scare them.

2. It was
obviously Bush's 2001 tax cuts, that have finally had their effect on the economy. All of Bush's "robust" stimuli will be having their intended effects in the order they were enacted... eight years later.

4. CNBC's Dennis Neil has already said the
economic turnaround was the result of GWB's groundwork last fall.

10. Do the people watching these guys THINK about what they're hearing?
Unfortunately, there's a lot of "perception IS reality" on CNBC. It's the (fake) culture they've manufactured. Buy on the RUMOR. It's not REALITY, it's what people THINK.

THESE are the guys who are really hurting America...

11. I think the laissez-faire policies Hoover implemented in 1929
are kicking in and boosting the economy. Good economic policies don't necessarily generate their effects overnight.

19. Finagle Factor:
The number you add/subtract/multiply/divide by from the number you have to get the number you want.

Hence, my Republican friend who insists that it takes 2-10 years for a economic policy to have any effect. The variable number is to account for times when it was plainly a Democratic President's policies.

3. Now let's get health care and balance the budget.
Restore the Bush tax cuts. The top two percent are sucking the blood out of the middle class!

5. Boy, will THEY be relieved when the bottom drops completely out.
As it will when everyone realizes that America doesn't manufacture anything any more, and therefore has nothing of value to sell to the rest of the world.

Because it may jumpstart the economy. It has been more successful than dreamed.

.. anyone thinks that this economy is in any way "improving" in in for a big surprise. When you stop losing blood at a liter a minute and fall back to 3/4 a liter, you are still dying.

A small blip in auto sales and existing home sales at huge discounts are not green shoots.

They are a result of the "frugality fatigue" and pent up demand that results from months of denial. Company profits suck, employment sucks, sales tax receipts suck, banks are failing at record levels and there is no fucking recovery.

I feel sorry for the fools that actually believe we have turned the corner and act on that belief.
