Putin dives to bottom of world's deepest lake (Putin vs, Teddy Roosevelt. Who wins?)
" Prime Minister Vladimir Putin Saturday dived to the bottom of the world's deepest lake aboard a mini-submarine, in a highly mediatized stunt unusual even by the standards of the Russian hardman."

"I've never experienced anything like it in my life," the prime minister, who served eight years as Russian president, told state television aboard the support ship after resurfacing.

It's a special feeling. What I saw impressed me because with my own eyes I could see how Baikal is, in all its grandeur, in all its greatness," he added."

"Judo-mad Putin, 56, prides himself on keeping a peak physical condition and has raised eyebrows with a series of adventures over the last years."

I think TR would wipe the floor with Putie. Yeah, Putin is a sneaky ex-KGB dude but TR was one tough motherfucker. He once got shot at a rally and didn't go to the hospital until after he finished his speech. TR climbed mountains, went on safari, rowed twenty miles a time not because he wanted people to see/know that he did. He did it because he thought that shit was fun.

1. TR was batshit crazy, whereas Putin is very cold and calculating. I think it's a cool stunt.
Baikal is amazing.

2. But we do have TR to thank for many of the national parks that otherwise might be
Disney theme parks now with $69 per person admission fees.

3. Putin needs to get his ass up San Juan Hill and create a national park system that is the envy of
the world (even though it could use some funding).

And TR didn't go golfing while the men on the KURSK were sitting on the bottom of the sea with their air running out.

9. The Bends would act as his porters!
While TR had a fist-fight with a giant squid at the bottom of the lake.
