If the economy improves, the Repubs are screwed.
That is why they are so against the "cash for clunkers". When people buy 250,000 cars within a week or so, that has to be good for our economy.

Also, they were deeply discouraged to hear Alan Greenspan say that the recession had bottomed out. Just last September, he was saying this was the worst economy in 100 years! That is a major turnaround.

They do not want the stimulus to work. They have a better chance of getting back in power if the economy stays in the crappy condition it was in when George W Bush left office. The sad truth is that they are more concerned about getting back in power than they are about the condition of our nation. (Of course, they say the same thing about the Democrats also)

The stock market is soaring. It is up almost 20% since the day Obama took office. There are not many "good" stories for the Republicans to cling to. There's just too many positive stories for them to work with.

1. It's not as simple as that.
We have to succeed at what we set out to do.

Republicans set out to prove that government doesn't work, so for them, success is really easy.

3. The gop is going to be the biggest stumbling block to us ever doing better
going forward and the sooner people realize that the better off we'll be. The less damage they can cause, please people wake the hell up.
