"Birthers proven right: Obama's Kenyan birth certificate found"
Sorry. I know we have plenty of threads going on this subject. But, this headline made me chuckle this morning, which is not easily accomplished on a Monday.

This from the Grand Rapid Examiner, dated today. "Recently a Californian attorney, Orly Taitz, publicly released a copy of Obama’s Kenyan birth certificate. Taitz has filed a motion in the U.S. District Court for authenticating the document, but as of right now, the birth certificate appears authentic."

This reporter has a real future with Faux news.

2. The trouble with the 'Examiner' websites is they're a blog designed to look like a media site
The 'reporter' is just a blogger, posting under their real name. As posting stuff like this as if the 'certificate' was real shows.

3. And Obama is older than the nation of Kenya that supposedly issued the certificate.
Among the other problems with it.

5. yup, Kenya wasn't even "Kenya" until 1963
Kenya Colony, ruled by British before that.

9. And Mombasa was in the State of Zanzibar...
until Dec. 12, 1963, when the city-island was ceded to Kenya. This was part of the realignments in coastal Africa at that time, as the European colonial powers gave way to nationalist-independence movements. So shouldn't birth records from Mombasa in 1961 be on a Zanzibar form rather than Kenya? (...even if they were both nominally under the British Protectorate.) Or am I mistaken here? Whatever, I think Orly Taitz and the freepers have swallowed a very clever poison pill. Kudos to the original designer of the "document."

8. Hmm, from 1964.
They should have dated it 1974, then they could also have argued that Barack Obama wasn't old enough to be prez. ;-)
