Time for war. The tea bagger nut jobs are at it again.
According to callers on the Thom Hartmann show today, they are showing up at town hall meetings conducted by Congressmen or Senators and asking scripted questions about national health care, bringing up euthanasia, abortion and any number of statements they can get in about how bad govt. health care is in those questions. Then they get up and leave before there can be a rebuttal. They are disrupting these meetings any way they can and boxing in the politicians with questions they can't answer especially on abortion. The health insurance companies are organizing the talking and paying for buses to get them to the meetings.

My suggestion to anyone who is attending one of these Town Halls is to wear a T shirt that the tea baggers wouldn't be caught dead in like one stating "Hippie", "Women's Rights Advocate", "Single Payer, Universal Health Care", "Medicare For All" or use your imagination to distinguish you from them. Maybe the politicos will catch on and at least ask you to say something after the nut jobs have had their say. Right now they are just dominating these meetings. Also, write letters to your health insurance agents stating that you disapprove of your premium money being used this way.

6. DIstribute that memo
to all who attend each and every meeting. Have someone stationed at the door and pass them out as people enter. Let people know what the opposition is up to.

21. I'm sure the good Democrats
in these districts who want to really discuss health care with their congress critters would be interested to learn that their meetings are being disrupted by agitators bussed in by the RNC.

I know I would think too kindly of someone from another place coming to cause trouble and make my congress critter look bad.

I'm all for exposing them before they have a chance to disrupt the process.

Oh please let Steele be pulling that shit. We both know he's not sharp enough to pull it off quietly.

26. They are being bussed in
but not technically by the RNC.My mistake on that. It's some conservative group with 'patriot' or 'freedom' in its name. But the RNC has not denouced them and from what I heard today, Republicans seem to think its just fine what they are doing. In fact they seem thrilled by it.

28. Someone suggested making it into a sign, and also handing out the memo to the Reps and security
So they will be prepped and know that the agitators are not really constituents but trouble makers.

And get somebody to take pictures of the agitators - remember, how the people in South Florida that shut down the vote counts were later identified at outside GOP agents. We need to know who these people are and identify the outsider troublemakers.

2. Check out this story at Page One (Kentucky)...
http://pageonekentucky.com/2009/08/03/right-wing-attack-on-john-yarmuth/

This article is about a faux "town hall" being set up to ambush Louisville's Democratic Congressman, and it links to two other interesting articles about this phenomenon.

4. This is the same tactic the used to discredit people like Abby Hoffman
And was first done by Richard Nixon. There would be plants sent into these town halls specifically to make Abbie Hoffman and his movement look 'stupid' (for lack of a better word) by asking far out-there questions or even booing Hoffman.

9. Yes, the meme is going around among these wackos that govt. health
care will cause old people to be euthanized. One of the nut job right wing congresswomen even repeated this on TV last week. I forgot her name.

8. Our local congressman
Lloyd Doggett, was on the receiving end of one of these disruptive events over the weekend. I don't know why he held his meeting near Circle C, center of the "I got mine, screw all ya'll" movement in Austin. You just can't talk to those people.

How a smart Representative handles the "memo-people"/disruptors.

Immediately after being introduced, he/she would say:

"Everyone who is on medicare, please stand up". Now sit down. Everyone who is too young to be on medicare, please stand up. Now sit down.

Why did I ask you to do that?

The first group of people who stood up paid into medicare since 1965 (maybe not the correct year) and their payments went to pay for health-care for their parents & grandparents. the second group of people who stood are NOW paying out of their paychecks for the first group's medicare..

Is that socialism? or is it just a generational promise of good citizenship and fair-play?

Let me ask these questions to the 2nd group. Should deductions from your pay stop, so that health-care benefits for the first group could be terminated?

Of course that means that YOU would get nothing in the way of health-care when YOU turn 65 either. How many have a million dollars saved up for health care in their old age?"

"NOW.. for the people who have received the RNC (READ MEMO ALOUD)
memo, and who are here to disrupt, please step up to the stage.. all together now.. You have 15 minutes to recite your prepared talking points, and then we'll proceed with the town hall meeting."

(assuming that no one steps forward)

Since no one here admits to receiving the disruption orders, or perhaps they were texting or twittering just now, anyone who stands up and shouts anything , will be removed."

then they should start the meeting.
