Wouldn't it just be simpler to allow cops to taser any living thing any time they wish?

It'd certainly remove the inconvenience of trying to reason with them.

(maybe I should rethink this, and allow for those few sane policemen)

1. I don't think this is nearly good enough.
What if they want to taser rocks, corpses, or other nonliving things?

2. My idea is to just electrify every surface in America..
Streets, sidewalks, homes, public squares, parks, stores, all of it.

Then it'd just be a matter of flipping a master switch and tasing the hell out of everyone. It's non-lethal, so why would anyone have a problem with that?

3. Maybe...
But it would still be wrong.

4. i assumed that WAS the current policy...
The police can taze anyone they want, whenever they want.

Isn't that the current policy?

Many of the tasing incidents that I've read about involved little or no talking. The cop didn't like
their attitude, etc. The person was tased with no warning.

Interesting isn't it? A guy I used to work with was suicidal and the police were called. He was threatening
to kill himself with a piece of glass. The was clearly distraught. The cop told him to put the piece of glass
down, but he tried to tell the cop that he was going to end his life. The cop shot him in the chest and killed him
instantly.

I'm wondering...if the use of tasers is so widespread and essential--why isn't it used in cases like this? My former
co-worker was distraught about his own personal problems. I would agree that a taser would be appropriate in that
situation...but where in the hell was it???
