Mr. Gates vs. the Townhall Screechers.
Can someone explain to me how one dude mouthing off on his own porch gets arrested for disturbing the peace because the porch is in a public area, while an entire mob of white folks deliberately setting out to scream at an elected official with the goal of disrupting a public meeting is something other than disturbing the peace?

4. I thought the official justification
was that once he stepped outside the house onto his porch they could arrest him because it was in public.

8. If he was argumentative, it was in his own house. Crowley asked him to step outside so he could
arrest him. That doesn't mean he was yelling outside.

3. Thank you. It took 6 minutes for Jim Crow to cuff Professor Gates.
How much longer do these actual disruptors get?

5. No I can't tell you..someone in
the autorities needs to answer this. And, why they're allowed to disrupt when Code Pink is taken away?

10. Bingo! It's almost like the Dem pols want the disruptions so that they
can get lobbyist money and not pass a decent health care reform bill.

14. No explanation without discussing about 500 years of American history.
This is one white folk who would love to infringe on the screeching white folks disruption of a public meeting.

15. Townhall meetings are for RESIDENTS of the district!
Why should anyone from outside of the senator's or rep's district be allowed to attend a discussion of how that district is represented? Why can't participants be required to show ID to determine residence? Leave the protesters coming in on the bus to march around outside and entertain each other. They should not be allowed to take away the right of citizens to meet with their representatives.
