Woman cheats on boyfriend, he pulls out her hair weave
Edited on Tue Aug-04-09 05:44 AM by The Straight Story
Man Arrested for Pulling Hair Weave

Lake CITY, FL (First Coast News) -- A man who thought his girlfriend was cheating on him took it out on her hair weave.

Lake City Police arrested Maurice Jackson, 39, shortly after midnight Friday morning.

When officers got to the apartment on SW Zesty Circle, they saw Jackson with a handful of hair.

A woman told police Jackson had pulled out her weave because he accused her of cheating on him.

She says he told her he wanted the weave back because he had paid for it.

Police say the woman had blood dripping from her hairline, and her real hair was saturated in blood.

She didn't want to go to the hospital, and says she's five months pregnant with Jackson's child.

1. Not that it matters, but
your subject line says "husband", but the material you posted says "girlfriend" you should probably explain or correct the dichotomy

3. the two threaDs i saw, only a couple laughed and it was males.
but yes, it is sick to laugh about it. and yes, ... there are many threads like this with male doing to female where certain people laugh and joke, thinking ... amusing. says something about the society we become today on anonymity and lack of empathy.

6. Major difference is this woman was seriously injured
the man just had some goo-b-gone applied to his dick and he was off!
In order to treat her wounds it is likely they'll have to shave her bald.

what happened to the guy, where there WAS evidence of wrong doing - was a glorified prank.

this is real domestic violence.

12. Major difference is the crime against him was much more serious that the one against her.
He was lured to a hotel, and convinced under false pretenses to submit to being tied, allegedly for some sexual fun. He was blind folded. Once tied up, he had a gun held on him, while his clothes were cut off him with scissors. Then he was beaten, and threatened with the gun. Then his penis was glued to his leg.

The man was the object of a 4 person criminal conspiracy, false imprisonment, assault, battery, and sexual assault.

The woman for whom you weep had her weave pulled off. Assault and battery.

8. There is a fair amount of gender bias in how domestic violence is perceived

10. That's true... but these stories aren't a good example.
Stories with an alleged 'humorous' element are laughed at no matter who the victim is.

I remember an incident where a man shoved a cheeseburger in his girlfriend's mouth or some such nonsense... had her locked in a car with him, terrified. People here laughed and laughed... and the victim was a woman. But since it was 'only a cheeseburger' it was okay, I guess. Of course, that wasn't the whole story... but nobody cared... because of the 'humorous' element.

While you do have a point that domestic violence against men is perceived differently, cases like this do not help the case... they only distract from it, because the issue here is not gender, but humor.

14. Your attempt to create a "humor" exception to sexual assault fails.

18. It's not an exception.

I'm merely pointing out how the reception for these kinds of stories doesn't do so much to back up the argument re: domestic violence against men, since it also happens when the target of the assault / violence / whatever is female (or a group of women in the story linked by Nash Vegas in the other thread).
