Here's a list of townhall meetings the right-wing mob plans to attend.

Maybe we can get people there to counter them....

I almost missed irmaly's excellent diary before it dropped off the diary list. It details information about the tea-bagging anti-reformers, their plans to demonstrate, and the recess town halls they will likely attend. Irmaly's diary should have made the rec list as this is important information that we all need to see. I'll repeat the most important details after the flip, but please go recommend irmaly's diary and not this one.

protothad's diary :: :: First of all Conservatives for Patients' Rights is teaming up with other conservative groups to organize and attend various town halls and listening sessions during the congressional recess. Here is a list they have put together of meetings they plan to attend

Also, they've put together something called Operation Recess Rally:

On August 22nd, 2009, during the break in session, we the people fully intend to hold mass rallies outside of every single congressional office in the country.

These events will represent a strong statement that we’ve been pushed to the edge and simply cannot be pushed any further. It is at this time that we will also hand deliver a coalition letter to every single congressional office in the country.

I've posted this just so we can stay informed about what the opposition is up to and plan accordingly. Again, irmaly's diary has more, so go rec it up.

I will be there with bells on.

I never miss an opportunity to tell John Linder that he is an asshat, so I'll be sure to get the rest of them too while I'm there.

6. Restrict attendance to residents of the district.
Announce that ID with current address will be required and checked at the door, then enforce it.

These meetings are for the benefit of the constituents in each area, so sending more outsiders as counter-disruptors is no help.

7. Another list I just got from the Freeper organzing web site:
http://www.dickmorris.com/blog/2009/08/03/four-steps-to-save-health-care/

3. Email your friends, family and associates: We need a massive outpouring of public opinion. Email your Christmas card list, your colleagues from the office, your friends, and your family. Bring them the facts about health care and Obama’s dangerous proposals. Think particularly of anyone you know in the following states (where the key Senators live):

a. Maine (Senators Susan Collins and Olympia Snow)

b. New York (Senator Kirsten Gillibrand)

c. Virginia (Senator Mark Warner and Jim Webb)

d. Indiana (Senator Evan Bayh)

e. Ohio (Senator John Voinovich)

f. North Carolina (Senator Kay Hagan)

g. Florida (Senator Mel Martinez)

h. Louisiana (Senator Mary Landrieu)

i. Arkansas (Senators Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln)

j. Nebraska (Senator Ben Nelson)

k. South Dakota (Senator Tim Johnson)

l. Iowa (Senator Chuck Grassley)

m. North Dakota (Senators Kent Conrad and Byron Dorgan)

n. Montana (Senators Max Baucus and Jon Tester)

o. Wyoming (Senator Michael Enzi)

4. Write or call your Senators and Congressman: Then sit down and write (by hand if possible) a letter to each of your Senators and your member of Congress. If you are not sure who your Congressman or Senators are, go to these links to find out:

https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml

http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Simply address the letter to:

Your Senator or Congressman:

US Senate or US House of Representatives, Washington DC 20510 (Senate) or 20515 (House)

Sending a letter by snail mail is much more effective than by email.

8. The last time nut jobs tried to get a group at a WA town hall
they were easily overwhelmed by the local Ds. I surely expect the same at Adams town hall in Lakewood where their attempt to have a teabag party was a complete failure.
