Is the M$M up to something?
I'm probably just being paranoid but hear me out.

So this morning on the local FOX station they announced that jury selection had started for the trial of a woman accused of making threats and hitting her neighbor over the head. (link to story) Is jury selection really news?

I couldn't find anything about it on their website, but they showed racially-charged footage, and said things like 'she could go to jail for the rest of her life'... the way they presented it seemed to me to be somehow inflammatory.

That got me thinking of some of the other issues in the media lately... the coverage of these lobbyist-orchestrated intimidation mobs... people shouting down their neighbors about an issue with billions of dollars worth of profits at stake. And all the coverage of Goldman Sachs... there's an editorial in Bloomberg today, very sarcastic and stirring, and not the kind of thing I'd expect to see from Bloomberg at all. And then there's the way the Gates incident was trumpeted... and these recent taser incidents - are they unusual? Has the incidence of these kinds of events really increased, or are they just getting more publicity lately?

Anyway... it just seems a little off to me, all taken together.

1. its a pattern--consider the confrontation bt Shuster and a Boston Globe columnist
Charles Pierce.

Something the cable media tends to do when a Democrat gains momentum with a populist idea.

From Al Gore to Kerry to Obama...there is a distinctive pattern.

2. They're up to getting people riled up. That's their job - to create more news.
After all...who profits the most from any disruption or disaster or anything bad that happens to anyone??? Foxnews, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, etc.

How many millions of dollars do you think someone like Natalie Holoway has brought in for them? Lots of millions.

3. It's maddening!
I was half listening to NPR this morning and they were talking about the health care debate. It was reported EXCLUSIVELY from the Republican point of view.

Then there's all this racial stuff they are highlighting to remind everyone day after day that the first "post racial" African American politician really is a black man after all.
