that might mean training in principled non-violence, King/Gandhi style

But we have to quit assuming they're going to play by any kind of societally perceived "rules...."

5. Yep.
Never thought for a minute that the wingers, and those who use them to maintain the status quo and their profits, would give up. The puppet masters (those who profit from status quo) know the mindless hate and fear in their minions is easy to trigger.

3. They lost their necrotic grip via democratic means in 06 and 08.
and now they're demonstrating that they don't believe in American Democracy.

Fuck em. They're now 100% anti-American, and proud of it. I wonder if they even recognize the irony?

6. Of course not, but I do expect the "blue Dogs" to be dems!
I don't expect or want the Dems to vote in solid unison like the Pubs do, but I sure don't want them supporting the corporate world either.

I expect a Dem from Ky, SC, Al, or Ms to vote against abortion issues or gay marriage OK's, because they SHOULD represent their constituents, but I don't expect or want them to ignore the needs of their constitutnts to get affordable HC either.

7. No, they're (the RW) still around and have a huge effect on things. The gov't appears
to be largely hamstrung, the war continues, and the money bunch are still riding high.

9. No, but I thought that empowered Dems might be more proactive ...
in seizing the power that they could and changing the nation's policies.

11. Nope, and the hardest work has just begun
I knew these thieving motherfuckers weren't going to just smile ruefully, shrug and say, "Oh well, we had a good run. Here's the country back." No, we're to have to snap their greedy fingers off the levers of power one by one (figuratively speaking) and take control. Even then, they'll be whining and puling about how unfair it all is, and how they deserve to have a say in how things are run. We need to ignore them as the losers that they are. Remember how fair-minded and generous Republicans were with office space, hearing rooms, and even floor votes in Congress? Me neither.
