Jesus Christ on a pogo stick
Edited on Tue Aug-04-09 02:27 PM by progressoid
I was forced to listen to Fox news for a couple hours yesterday (client had it on). I don't think I've ever done Fox news for that length of time before. It made my head hurt. I expected the lies and propaganda, but didn't expect it to be so simple-minded.

Sadly, it appears to be what their audience wants. Check out the popular "news" stories as of 2:00 Central Time today.

Top ten most read on Fox:

1. Seattle Bank Teller Loses Job After Thwarting Heist
2. Cruise Passenger Goes Overboard in Apparent Suicide
3. Mom in U.K. Fined for Grieving Too Long at Baby Son's Funeral

5. Michael Douglas' Son Arrested in Crystal Meth Sting
6. Christian Family Burned to Death in Pakistan After Koran is 'Defiled'

8. FOXSexpert: Want More Sex? Here's How to Get It
9. The Return of 'Jon & Kate Plus Eight' : Before, During and After the Breakup
10. Report: New York Mother Driving During Deadly Wrong-Way Crash Drunk, High

So I thought I would check out CNN. Maybe CNN viewers were better?

1. If I'm going to watch crap on TV, I'd rather it be good crap.
Like cartoons and comedy shows.

I've got on an old episode of MAD TV. Frank Caliendo as Bush, engaging in a "Trading Spouses" episode with the Heinz-Kerrys. The couples end up being perfectly suited....it was actually pretty funny, especially when Teresa 'bombed' Cheney from the WH balcony ("I hate that man"/"Ah hate-im, too, heh heh!").

I'm not shaking my fist at the Stupid Box. I'm laughing!

5. I remember that episode!
We'll be cancelling cable soon. Just keeping it long enough so my parents can watch their shows when they visit in a couple months. Will have to watch online after that.
