Web war between Obama and Drudge
Source: Associated Press wire

WASHINGTON August 4 Sapa-AP/Richmark Sentinel

The White House is turning to the Internet to hit back at a Web
posting that claims to show President Barack Obama explaining how
his health care reform plans eventually would eliminate private
insurance.

The three-minute White House video features Linda Douglass, a
former network television correspondent and now White House Office
of Health Reform communications director, sitting in front of a
computer screen showing the Drudge Report Web site. That site
carries a series of video clips from another blogger who strings
together selected Obama statements on health care to make it appear
he wants to eliminate the private health insurance business.

In the video Douglas says the site is "taking sentences and
phrases out of context, and they're cobbling them together to leave
a very false impression."

1. Should be a good fight. Drudge rules the media's world, but Obama is, well... Obama.

2. All the corporations have to do is out-compete the government.
They are so "efficient", and the government is so clumsy and "inefficient", it ought to be no problem at all.

3. Drudge thinks nothing of presenting outright lies and propaganda as news
In typical Drudge fashion, he likes to take snippets of old speeches, put them together and post them in a way that is a complete lie and fabrication.

7. Fraud? How so? And even if it is, who's going to do anything about it?
Drudge and FAUX News spew outright LIES on a daily basis. Sure it's wrong, but who's going to stop it? All they have to do is scream "First Amendment".

9. Honestly,
I'd have no issue or any regret with the President taking time on the major networks for a WEEK, for some time each night, READING the proposed legislation and laying it out in lay mens terms.
Even if the righties tune in to mock it, they would HAVE to listen to some of it, and it MIGHT make some of them break loose of programming. In either instance, it would serve as an education for the American public on THE FACTS of the proposals, not the LIES and OUTRIGHT HORSE SHIT offered by the repugs.

8. The GOP has read "Rules For Radicals" and is using it. In doing so,
they are now playing Obama's game by his rules. One of the old Saul Alinsky tactics is using the ambush at meetings in order to make it appear that your people are really mad and your numbers are much bigger than they really are. This is exactly what the GOP is doing on health care. (This is why I've said for many years now from back when I was on the receiving end of that crap that there's no such thing as "everyone" or "a lot of people" or any other such term). However, Obama knows his numbers are much bigger than the handful of nutcase teabaggers so they will not back him down. You just let them go on and on and eventually they start really pissing off not only your supporters, but those who have stayed out of it. The key is winning the message war. You show them as the lying bastards they really are to the good and reasonable people and you count on them to get your message out too because they have the credibility that the lying bastards do not have.

try the tactics. Crap.
