Michael Moore's "Capitalism: A Love Story" to debut in Venice before heading to Toronto
from the Toronto Int'l Film Festival blogs:

Michael Moore coming to TIFF 09
POSTED: July 28, 2009 12:29 | By: Thom Powers

Today, TIFF put an end to the rumors and speculation around Michael Moore's new film CAPITALISM: A LOVE STORY in a press release announcing the film's premiere at this year's festival. The description reads: "On the 20-year anniversary of his groundbreaking masterpiece Roger & Me, Michael Moore's Capitalism: A Love Story comes home to the issue he's been examining throughout his career: the disastrous impact of corporate dominance on the everyday lives of Americans (and by default, the rest of the world). But this time the culprit is much bigger than General Motors, and the crime scene far wider than Flint, Michigan. From Middle America, to the halls of power in Washington, to the global financial epicenter in Manhattan, Michael Moore will once again take film-goers into uncharted territory."

As one of the few people who have seen a version of CAPTIALISM (still in progress), I can testify that Moore is working at the top of his game with a talented crew. And that's about all I can say about its secretive details.

Tomorrow, I'll be headed to Michael Moore's own film festival in Traverse City, MI (pictured). Watch this space for on the scene reports.

7. Actually meant that I wonder if they'll even wait till it's released

before they start the smears on both Moore and on the movie. So both of us are of course right; it's when, not if... Pathetic and sickening, but we all know it'll happen, and plenty of sheeple will fall for the same ol' corporate BS once again.....just saw your edit, so yeah, you're most likely right; preemptive swiftboating...

10. Makes you wonder if Korporate Amerika will try to find a way to stop the release...

Kind of like he's had battles in the past getting it released like he did with Disney with F 9/11... Though I'm sure that Michael Moore is trying to work with folks like Weinstein again who helped him out of that mess then, it makes you wonder if they'll try to get theater chains to block it this time or something more "creative" to stop the film from getting a prominent release time, etc.

8. Does he have a film distributor lined up yet, or are they going to try to shut him down again?
