Johnny and June Cash's house has burned down. Nothing is left.
I just loved Johnny and June Cash. I grew up hearing their music because my dad loved them. This story makes me so sad. Be sure to read the entire article on the link.

Johnny Cash's longtime lakeside home, a showcase where he wrote much of his famous music and entertained U.S. presidents, music royalty and visiting fans, was destroyed by fire on Tuesday.

<snip>

"So many prominent things and prominent people in American history took place in that house — everyone from Billy Graham to Bob Dylan went into that house," said singer Marty Stuart, who lives next door and was married to Cash's daughter, Cindy, in the 1980s.

<snip>

"Johnny and June lived there the entire time they were married," Tommy Cash said. "It was the only house they lived in together until they both passed on."

The fire, in this suburb about 20 miles northeast of downtown Nashville, started around 1:40 p.m. Fire trucks arrived within five minutes, but the house was already engulfed, Hendersonville Fire Chief Jamie Steele said.

This is what caught my attention:

The cause is unknown, but Steele said the flames spread quickly because construction workers had recently applied a flammable wood preservative to the exterior of the house. The preservative was also being applied inside the house.

I know absolutely nothing about construction. Is applying flammable wood preservative a normal thing to do?

3. My dad use to play his albums all the time.
In the summers, he would play Cash while bar-b-queing outside in the back yard, while throwing back a cold one. This is where I learned to love Johnny... and how to get a sip of beer!

2. This is so horrible.
So many things happened in that house. So many genius songs were creative there, and for Johnny and June, so much love was there:cry:

4. I just love those pictures I posted of the two of them.
You can see just how much they adored one another. I think he died of a broken heart after she passed.

5. I think that means
that the preservative had petroleum distillates which is common.
They probably left rags that started the fire through internal combustion.

Have seen this happen many times. Once a boyfriend left oily rags on a coiled up rope. The rope started on fire.
Another time painters left their rags on beauty bark and it started a fire next to new condos (the fire started after they had left work for the day).

8. I think you meant spontaneous combustion
Spontaneous combustion:

Cotton and oil do not play well together.
