Somebody at MSNBC should break it to Keith that he can't do voices.
Even if he's not trying to imitate someone and just trying to sound funny, it's not.

Thing is, the quotes themselves are good enough to make the person he's talking about sound stupid. Most of the time he distracts from the stupidity of the RW'er he's talking about.

9. Yeah, it puts the attention on him. I remember seeing a Glenn Beck vid on Youtube doing the same.

10. I guess I'm silly, but I like the voices... yesterday's Lou Dobbs old man voice was funny.
I think a bonus to his using the voices is that it pokes fun at the Republican hypocrites. They are all so pompous and self righteous that it must really get to them. They want to be taken seriously after all they are "journalists" in their own minds.

He's not spot on with all of them, and there are some that he really is not good at, but sometimes his impersonations are uncanny, such as Cong.King. Sometimes he's got the pattern, but not the voice. ....

I do think that on some he just goes too far past what he could have pulled off if he had just kept it short.

Sometimes, however, it is not necessary to get the voice just right, as long as he captures the thing that makes it unique - kind of like a charicaturist.

That said, I haven't listened to tonight's show yet. I DVR so I can cut out Harry & Louise and the rest of the commercials.

I must say, KO really grates on my nerves. I generally cannot bear to watch him. But tonight I watched for a few minutes because I am so interested in the Blackwater story. When he did the imitation voice, I nearly hurled!

18. I find myself watching him less and less myself. He wasn't always this cartoonish.
I wish he'd endeavored more heartily to become a hard news person in the classic style. Goofiness and demagoguery from either side of the aisle is off-putting.
