Rachel Blew it bringing Tim Phillips on...
The guy is a blowhard liar, he does it for a living. He'd lie about shitting his pants if it was there running down his leg! She should have asked the fucker WHO was traveling around on those quarter million dollar buses! And he even managed to put in a pitch to raise more corporate money, and he'll get it too I bet. Keep those fuckers off your show Rachel, they will do nothing but lie right to your face, and you can't expose them BECAUSE they are experts at lying through there teeth with a smarmy shit eating grin on their face!:mad:

It doesn't work well unless you have some real facts and use the RW tactic of bombarding them with facts, butting in and not letting them have more than 3 seconds of time to get their spew of lies in there. Make them mad and get them off their game, that's when they usually blow it and say something really revealing.

at best it was a draw. Fortunately - those that might be swayed by a guy like this wouldn't watch Rachel. But if they were one of these people that believe that Obama and the Dems will euthanize old people - than they would have thought this guy won the debate.

7. Agree with it all you want, but
I think she destroyed him, and I don't see how a reasonable person would not see that. We are only going to get the reasonable people anyway. The stupid crowd will still be their without him but it's good to not be afraid to call them out.

WE all saw what she did, and he just took all her good points and minimized them and lied about most of them. Of course I saw through it, but most people wouldn't. She just gave him a platform to spew his facist propaganda and lies.

They like the videos, they seem to think that will get them on the teevee. They'll posture and pose for video, but they weren't happy having their photos snapped this morning, some trying to cover their faces.

18. This is the first time I have seen Rachel
semi-flustered in an interview. The guy was really good at what he does. I doubt anything he said was the truth but he would have sounded reasonable and convincing to the average Joe who had not been following the issues. I doubt Rachel will be having him back.

You can't "expose" guys like that, they have their talking points down so well and are MASTERS at bare faced lying and coming across as credible to the sheep of the world. Like she said before he came on "These people make a living at it" lying that is. They are students of Joseph Goebbels... they know how to take bald face lies and turn them into truth for the idiots in the world who are programed to believe this shit. I think she learned a lesson on this one.

He came off as a grinning lobbyist. He was visibly caught off guard by the Ralph Reed association. He didn't expect that little bit of research.

27. agreed, pretty much. I just posted in another thread almost the same thing.
these guys do this for a living, and, bright as she is, she doesn't have the deep knowledge to counter his specific lies/elisions.

for example: he said that 88% of their money comes from public and foundation money.

rachel should have asked if that would be 99% foundation/1% public donations, or what. she did bring up some Koch Industry foundation money, but it would have been more revelator had he been forced to break down the public/foundation percentages

further, she should have asked if ANY of those foundations were not affiliated with RW richfux, business/industry groups/lobbyists, etc.
