Republic Disruption Will Only Get Worse. Authorities Refuse To Take Action To Protect The Innocent
Edited on Thu Aug-06-09 09:51 PM by KittyWampus
It's been known for a week that republican disrupters were organized to show up and cause havoc at town hall meetings.

Has anyone heard of ANY arrests? Any disrupters forcibly removed out of venues?

A few days ago, someone posted a story about a meeting at a library where things went smoothly because the Librarians were smart enough to have contacted police beforehand and have them present.

WHY AREN'T THERE POLICE AT THESE THINGS?

Republicans claim to like police so much, they should be happy to see them there at the meetings. The police want money routed to them from their elected leaders, they should be happy to show up at these meetings.

Why haven't our elected Democratic leaders holding these meetings requested a noticeable police presence?

Why aren't they demanding these disrupters be removed?

And just like children who aren't disciplined, these disrupters will only escalate their behavior since no one is reining them in.

At this point, if something violent does happen part of the blame will fall on the Democratic leaders for once again failing to act to protect Democracy. They know what's going on and do nothing. OH, with three weeks left of summer supposedly some Union members may eventually show up. Big whoop!

If Code Pink members can get escorted out and arrested within seconds of standing up and calling out, these Republican hooligans should be too.

1. I believe the congressperson could request police presence if
they have reason to believe there could be issues. However, town halls are different than official government business such as Senate hearings.

3. Hopefully once the unions start showing up, these cowards will back down
And if not, I'm sure that these union guys know how to take care of them.

4. just as the government essentially allows ongoing violence against women's health providers
by sitting on their hands as the violence is stirred up...

The Democratic Alliance of Northwest Indiana (DANI ) hosted a meeting with Rep. Pete Visclosky (D, IN-01), on Monday, Aug. 3, 6:30 PM. We invited the public and their written questions. It seems good to share with the Daily Kos readership some lessons we learned.

Bottom line:
• We had an orderly and productive meeting.
• No one stood up, shouted out and sat down.
• At no point was our Congressman or audience rattled.
• DANI accomplished its objective. We provided the public an opportunity to question our Congressman about Health Care and Clean Energy.
• Tea Baggers came out in force, but they failed to disrupt the meeting.
• Local reporters attended.

"Lessons learned follow below the fold."
