2 months ago, Sonia Sotomayor's confirmation was a "Threat to the Republic"
All the RW media outlets were unloading on her and how she is going to tear down the fabric of American society if she were to be confirmed.

They were in a full-blown tizzy.

Then she's confirmed today and it's "oh well, got us on that one Obama. We'll get ya next time."

Now they're in a full scale riot mode over Health Care. And 2 months from now, after it passes, they'll quickly move on to their next faux outrage.

Last week, Glenn Beck call Obama a racist over the Gates/Crowley thing.

This week, no RW talk hosts are even talking about it anymore.

They're manufacturing rage-du-jour... then quickly moving on to the next rage.

They're angst is not real. It's a fucking game to them. They're playing a role.

It's drama to generate ratings. And then it's on to the next drama.

Remember the "bow to the Saudi king"? Yeah... it was the end of the freaking world to them.. remember?
For weeks it was "TOTUS" and the how Obama relied on the teleprompter. Now? Not a peep.

They're like soap-opera actors who get the script in the morning, overact it in the afternoon, then go home and start again the next day with a new script.

They're winging it, folks.

The Right-wing is rudderless.... and we're not. We got the biggest, baddest fucking rudder around.

President Obama.

1. all they do is start PR brushfires, and fan the flames of whatever propagandandizing event
they're staging until it dies down, each time causing those who pay minimal attention to feel more negatively about the 'opposition' than before. the effect, like eating french fries twice a day, every day, is cumulative

when they're in power it was governing by publicity stunt. when they're out of power (at least from the governing standpoint....they're never really out of power), they just throw BS up against the wall constantly, and whatever sticks for more than a few moments is what they go with. that's how the McCain campaign worked

with a compliant media, it's easy for ridiculous BS like euthanasia, bureaucrats standing between doctors/patients, Obama the undocumented alien Muslim to hold the national stage, when they should never see the light of day

it's how we got the way we are

media are the real problem, because they're the horse upon whihch the fascists ride to power, and from which they cast aside those who won't buy the BS

2. Repubic pawns are throwing the kitchen sink.
We own the house.

Now we just have to wrestle our land back from the shadowy cabal with its immense black budget and military might, that's all. Not to worry, though, the forces of light are on our side. :)

3. The more frightening thing is that the masses are just waiting for their marching orders....
...about what to go bat-shit crazy about. And the marching orders are, of course, available to the highest corporate bidder.

That much is obvious now and is pretty fucking sad.

5. I was surprised that Obama chose someone as conservative-friendly as Sotomayor...
a former corporate lawyer and a jurist known for deference to corporations and police. I suspect he was thinking that Republicans would be pleased with a relatively conservative nominee, and especially loath to oppose her and possibly offend an ethnic group not previously represented on the Supreme Court (Reagan made the same bet with Scalia, and it paid off for him: Democratic senators voted unanimously for Scalia, a known ultraconservative, for fear of offending Italians). So since it appears Republicans will fight any nominee like hell, Obama might as well give us a liberal next time.

7. Unless you're happy with just her apparent positions re. abortion, guns, & affirmative action....
I have no idea what you're talking about. We'll see if you're still laughing if she ends up to the right of Souter. That would swing a number of 5-4 decisions the wrong way from a liberal point of view.
