Have the congressman present all the data, answer FAQs, and rebut the common talking points at the start of the meeting. Then, have him answer questions from the audience that they have written down beforehand.

It you force the Town Hall screamers to present their questions in written form you take away their opportunity to demagogue.

1. That makes sense to me.
But these people are trying to work their way up to a confrontation where someone gets hurt or killed, and then they will express justification for their "protests." They are terrorists, behaving with so much rage and hostility that they are frightening away those citizens who just want information and responsibility from their legislators. These people do not want that communication to occur. I think they will become willing, and possibly eager, to engage in physical violence in order to achieve their goals.

May we remember that the Civil Rights battle was finally won by non-violent protests.

2. They are doing that in some townhalls.
People can shout and chant and make noise while the Congressperson is talking, regardless.

3. I totally agree...
whenever there threatens to be disorder to the point of disruption (and accomplishing NOTHING, I have heard that poor folks who actually went to get some answers at these things were covering their ears from the cacophony) you need to impose structure. Should be the general format from here on out.

Dem congressmen certainly won't use republican BushCo tactics "All questions were pre-screened" so fucking what, everything is pre-screened....including the idiot moron agitators robots offensive screaming......Your answer is so full of shit...if one can't be heard over all your insurance crazy nutcases...submit the questions in advance!

More important....what's your solution to the fucking strong-arm tactics you seem to agree with, you don't have one except keeping the status quo, which is obvious after reading ALL of your 40 odd post!!
