The Turner Diaries. Seriously, it puts what I'm seeing some of the Right doing now in a very different light. It's a disturbing thing some times to get inside your opponent's head and walk around for a while.

What is it with Republicans always having to have this strict apparatus to control their spontaneous protests?

I have never heard the level of political discourse in this country drop so low. I remember the turmoil and hatred of the sixties but this is taking it to a whole new level. We, as in Democrats, do it too but these "protesters" turning up at the health care forums are looking for a physical confrontation and are quite willing to trash the nation to save their political party. This is what we get. The elected Republicans sit silently and allow "grassroots" organizations to do their dirty work. I have yet to hear any Republican lawmaker offer up a viable alternative for healthcare reform other than "Let them eat cake".

I wonder how many of these protesters are on Medicare, drawing a pension, planning on drawing Social Security, or struggling to pay for their insurance?
