Man arrested for barking at Michigan police dog
Man arrested for barking at Michigan police dog

THREE RIVERS, Mich. — Authorities said a man has been arrested in for barking at a police dog. The Three Rivers Police Department said officers responded Monday evening to an apartment complex to investigate a suspicious situation.

Police said Wednesday in a statement a 26-year-old man in the area "began to torment" a police dog inside the patrol car by barking and shouting at it, causing the animal to become excited and "very aggressive."

The man was arrested and later released on bond. He faces a charge of disorderly conduct.

I wonder if I see a kid doing this in a parking lot to a dog and called the police what they would say?

"911 What's your emergency?"

"Um, yeah, there is this kid barking at a dog in a car and making it mad, can you send someone to arrest the kid please."

4. If it's an adult you yell at him/her for being an asshole...

If it's a kid you yell at his or her parent for allowing their kid to be an asshole.

There's no need to call 911.

Was the guy arrested for harassing the dog or refusing the officer's order to stop harassing the dog?

8. I don't think anyone did. I think the cop came back from investigating his
call and found the little shithead fucking with his dog.

If the kid is in a public place (parking lot) raising a ruckus, the charge will stick. It's not his living room, or even his porch. Depending on where the jerk was standing, there could be dashcam footage, too.

5. What a dumbass kid. Was he drunk, or just stupid? Probably both.
It's not like he was barking at the dog in his own house.

I'm guessing he wouldn't have done that, either, if the dog hadn't been locked in the back of the car.

I don't like people who torment dogs.

10. He wasn't a kid. He was 26 years old. Old enough to be arrested for disorderly conduct, which is
what it was. I hope the judge gives this ahole community service cleaning up crap in an animal shelter.

15. Do you just read subject lines?
The definition of "kid" changes as you age, Skippy.

I think he was being an asshole, too.

9. I agree with this arrest. This was unprovoked aggression against the dog.
No excuse for it whether it was a police dog or not. That dog wasn't bothering him. He should have left it alone.

19. Taunting a dog inside a car in a parking lot is not disorderly conduct?
Edited on Fri Aug-07-09 11:38 AM by yellowcanine
I am curious as to what someone would have to do in order for you to consider it disorderly conduct?

14. The dog was upset because this guy was screaming gibberish at him.
The dog was simply responding "What? WHAT? WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY TO ME?" in his own doggy language.

Poor dog. Moronic guy.

Is there a Rosetta Stone course for Dog?
