Edited on Fri Aug-07-09 11:11 AM by leftofthedial
--bank "bailout" giveaway

--death of real health care reform

--the "gigonomy"

--more than half of all mortgages underwater by 2011

--median income continuing to plummet

--wealth of top 1% continuing to grow

--continuing illegal "wars" of occupation

--lack of any meaningful reinstatement of government regulation of corporations in any industry

2. What class?
Can't seem to find the one I fit into .... Is there a "formerly upper middle class" ? Somewhere between treading water and bankrupt?

7. And because many cannot face that ugly truth, we get the horrible situation we've got
Class warfare (started by the upper class, mind you) has been raging in America for decades.

Those who can't face the truth are making things worse.

5. The so called "most progressive president ever"
according to his fans here, is an active combatant in that war. Unfortunately, he's fighting for Goldman Sachs, not us.

So there is no way the class war is going to slow down any time soon. :(

23. As a member of the upper-lower-lower-upper-lower strata of the American working class
I enjoy my seat by the porthole on the lower level. I'm worried about all those jerks in the interior rooms who're trying to get their stinkin' subprime eyeballs on my porthole. I worked hard for this porthole. I've hear rumors that the upper class are sewing wings from the skin and bones of our dead kids. They think that when the titanic sinks they'll be able to fly away. But I'm not so worried, I hear they're working with a new captain up there. He can't avoid the crash, but he'll make sure they use fewer children to make the wings, and that they will be killed humanely.

12. Hell, man...
..I'll volunteer to live with my family in a cardboard box under a railroad bridge, and toast sparrows on an old curtain rod over an open fire, but only if you guarantee me that the people in the next box over -- black, gay, foreign, liberal, different -- don't even get the sparrow.

21. The Class War is over.
What we have now is the Victors (top 1%) enjoying their Spoils.

NOW we have Your Children’s Money too !!!
And there is not a fucking thing you can do about it!
Now THIS is “Bi-Partisanship” !
Better get used to it!!
Hahahahahahahahaha!

Americans who Work for a Living LOST the CLASS WAR in 1992 with the installment of Vichy Democrats(DLC) in seats of power.

There is NO open avenue for any real change in The System unless you believe that Dennis Kucinich will be able to effect any changes.

The ONLY slight glimmer of "hope" I see lies with the Progressive Caucus, none of whom were placed in a position of authority in the Obama Administration. However, the Progressive Caucus HAS stepped up and started drawing lines in the sand with the "Party Leadership" (the Vichy Democrats).

On some days, I suspect that even the Progressive Caucus is a part of the "Dog & Pony Show" which is kept around to perpetuate the illusion that we still have representation in our government, keeping us docile, and sending in the money...."If we just work a little harder and send in more money, maybe NEXT election....We almost got something this time..." (3 Card Monty).

The only other option is to stop feeding the beast.
Learn to Live Well on a "Taxable Income" close to poverty levels.
Stop "Consuming" in the American sense of the word.
Grow or Raise as much of your own food as possible.
What you can't make yourself, buy or barter 2nd Hand or Salvage....or do without.
