Lets infiltrate their movement...
Show up and stand by the loonies - when the shouting starts make sure your voice is heard above the rest. Demand to see the congress member's birth certificate, demand they kill Medicare and the VA, Talk about making food out of dead people, you know - out crazy the crazies. Make their crowd look absolutely stark raving mad.

Time for a little street theater people.

4. Hey, I'm liking that idea
Be prepared to take a few punches when they find out they've been had. Other than that, if you can muster the volunteers, go for it!

5. Let 'em throw punches. That's assault.
And after it is clear to all the bystanders who started the fight, punch back.

6. When a dog bites your hand, you don't cringe and pull away.
Who shove your hand down their throat, stimulating the gag reflex so you can extract your hand. Your post reminds me of that fact for some reason, its "gagging the dog".

But ultimately, what you're talking about is totally unnecessary. Their crowd already does look stark raving mad, to a large enough percentage of the population anyway.

12. Gagging the Dog - I like it...
How else can we gag the dog? Here's a thought, if you get one of "those" emails sent to a list of folks why not replace their lies with facts about health care's escalating costs and increasing failures and send that back to the group.

13. Well, courage is one way.
That action surprises the dog, because the dog expects the victim to try to pull away. That's why it works. The key to any action like that is to push in the directions Republicans don't expect. So the major issue here with the town halls seems to be attempts to intimidate, shout down discussion, etc. Since intimidation tries to inspire fear, the most important unanticipated response is courage, whatever form it takes.

9. How about enforcing the rules of order?
You can't count on a casual meeting remaining orderly. Make it formal. Set ground rules, enforce them, and have law enforcement ready to back you up if people become unruly.

It sounds old-fashioned, but it works!

17. exactly -
this is what I've been saying from the beginning?

WTH aren't they THINKING? It won't shut down discourse to have ORDER, it will encourage it.

The problem at this point is, I don't think "regular" people are even going to these things. they're afraid to.

As for pretending to be "one of them" and "out-crazying" them - I think this could backfire, 'cause then they will just blame US when they start getting called on it saying that it was the "dems" just trying to make them LOOK BAD.

Hell, they look bad enough all by themselves. They don't need ANY HELP showing people just how crazy they are.

but another part of me thinks they won't be able to tell the difference, and that out-crazy-ing them would be nigh impossible.
