Remember that DHS report that warned against "Right wing extremism"?
That everyone on the right got all pissy about?

<snip>
(U//LES) Threats from white supremacist and violent antigovernment groups
during 2009 have been largely rhetorical and have not indicated plans to carry
out violent acts. Nevertheless, the consequences of a prolonged economic
downturn—including real estate foreclosures, unemployment, and an inability
to obtain credit—could create a fertile recruiting environment for rightwing
extremists and even result in confrontations between such groups and
government authorities similar to those in the past.

(U//LES) Rightwing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first
African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new
members, mobilize existing supporters, and broaden their scope and appeal
through propaganda, but they have not yet turned to attack planning.

Man, how off-base was that?

:sarcasm:

They might need to amend that last sentence though. It seems pretty obvious with these town halls and 30+ Obama death threats every day that we're moving into the "attack planning" phase.

4. Frighteningly so.
Let's hope the administration is paying more attention to this than Bush did to the "Bin Laden determined to strike within the US" report.

:scared:

3. And when the report was first published
the right wing misinformation did what it does best, fake outrage. Then it went on inciting the ignorant amongst us to fake outrage as well.

6. What's going on now is nothing short of the GOP trying to overthrow the POTUS.
I know that sounds extreme, but think about it. Town hall meetings are now being cancelled due to death threats and escalating violence. This has all happened since Congress adjourned approx. a week ago.

In essence, they are attempting (and in some cases) succeeding in shutting down the democratic process. This is chilling. If there is no intervention soon, I don't even want to think what this country will look like in Sept.

7. Yeah, boy. That was some crazy sh*t! How do they come up with this stuff?
Seriously, though. I am so sick of RW poutrage being catered to. It trivializes the idea of reality, and truth, and reason. It's weak and deserves ridicule and objection by all sane people.
