Why they fight.
Think back to that long year, waaaaaay back in "aught-eight".

Giuliani flamed out, in spite of the fact that his warmth meter was stuck on -16
Huckabee was well liked, in a galumphing pooch way, but never had "it"
Romney looked good, but there's that Mormon thing
Thompson had a hard time staying awake, let alone in the race
All the others in the running were lackluster and stale...and yet

who ends up winning?

McCain.. the LEAST favorite.

The lack of interest was so extreme that he had to give away his own campaign to Mrs. Moose in order to draw crowds.

The only thing that kept the faithful energized was the hope that Ole-John would croak, early on and they would get President Barbie of the Yukon.

"John & Barbie" was the "anti-black guy" vote.

That did not work...

In fact it was such a stupendous flop, that many righties were seriously
fed up with politics. Since then they have mostly consoled themselves with mundane daily life, but now..FINALLY, they have been "activated"..called to action.

Action...such a wonderful thing.. free lunches, bus trips..camaraderie with others who hate "that black guy", and all they have to do is be obnoxious, make some signs and stop town hall meetings from happening.

They are happy to finally have something concrete to do, and a script to follow..

1. Some Republicans just prefer that party's 'small government' message. It's that simple. nt

2. Small government, low taxes, and food handouts from churches due to no jobs.

6. Bull.
It was the republican 'small government' that GREW the government, and government expenses, over the past 8 years.

Wait. You're right. They prefer that 'small government' message DESPITE the big government REALITY.

Total disconnect.
